Southern Leyte State U enhances office productivity through training on effective use of MS apps

Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), in collaboration with the University Human Resource Management and Development Office, organized a training session on Thursday, July 6, to promote the effective utilization of Microsoft Office applications for improved productivity.

The training aimed to equip participants with essential skills to optimize office operations, enhance efficiency, and facilitate seamless communication within administrative offices.

Recognizing the vital role played by Microsoft Office in streamlining administrative tasks, the training focused on familiarizing participants with the basic functionalities of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The training encompassed various aspects of document creation, data organization, spreadsheet calculations, multimedia integration, and effective presentation design with the intention of providing a holistic learning experience.

The participants explored Microsoft Word learned techniques for creating and formatting documents efficiently. They were introduced to time-saving features, such as templates, styles, and formatting tools, enabling them to produce professional-looking documents with ease.

In Microsoft Excel, the participants acquired skills essential for organizing data, performing calculations, utilizing formulas, and creating informative charts and graphs.

The training also covered Microsoft PowerPoint, focusing on designing visually appealing presentations and incorporating multimedia elements. Participants gained insights into effective presentation techniques, exploring features like slide layouts, animations, transitions, and multimedia integration.

The training primarily catered to personnel from the Physical Plant Development and Maintenance Office (PPDMO), General Services Office (GENSO), and Security and Safety Services.

The participation of these departments ensures that the knowledge gained during the training will be implemented across critical administrative functions, fostering efficiency and seamless communication within the university.

The Head of the Human Resources and Development, Mr. Gordon Opina , expressed his satisfaction with the training's outcomes.

“This training is an essential step in empowering our administrative staff with the necessary skills to optimize productivity. By enhancing your proficiency in Microsoft Office, we are confident that you will be equipped to handle your responsibilities efficiently, leading to more streamlined operations and improved overall performance," he said.
