SLSU, UM implements inked research partnership

On April 8, 2024, SLSU and the University of Mindanao held a productive engagement as it formally launched the collaborative research project on Analysis of Suitable Agricultural Zones Using Remote Sensing and GIS: The Case of Southern Leyte, Philippines. This project is the first undertaking for the inked partnership between the 2 institutions in the pursuit of intensifying research outputs.

A team of researchers from the UM headed by Dr. Eugenio S. Guhao, Jr., Dean of the UM Professional Schools, with Joel B. Tan, Jason R. Paragamac, and Rylle G. Anuber personally visited SLSU to ascertain the conditions, requirements, and finalized the research proposal. The SLSU, on the other hand, graced by its key officials, research team and personnel from the Graduate School committed to fully contribute to the successful completion of the project. The UM visit concluded with a tour at the SLSU GIS Technology Center.

Indeed, the visit provided a strong foundation for the successful carrying out of the research partnership. Both institutions committed to contribute knowledge, expertise, assistance and facilities as may be needed.
