Bahasa Ready: SEAMEO Participants Gear Up Through Bahasa Short Course

In preparation for the upcoming Southeast Asian (SEA) Teacher Program of Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), soon-to-be educators of SLSU Tomas Oppus Campus were equipped with the essential knowledge on Bahasa as they leave for Universitas Darul Ulum in Lamongan, Indonesia on April 10, 2025.

Dr. Irmayani of UNISDA, in collaboration with the External Linkages and International Affairs Office and SLSU - Tomas Oppus Education Department, spearheaded the teaching of basic Bahasa to seven (7) outgoing SEA teacher participants from April 2-4, 2025.

The basic Bahasa course included common phrases which can be used to introduce oneself, shop or buy commodities, dine at a restaurant or order online, ask and provide directions, and other activities relevant to the needs of the student-interns.

This program aims to provide cultural and linguistic input for the students to easily embrace the diverse upbringing of the Indonesian people especially in Lamongan.
