Celebrating Excellence and Skills: A Remarkable Academic and Skills Competition

The 21st SLSU Anniversary featured a week-long celebration, with Faculty Day as one of the highlights. Organized by student groups, the event fostered friendly competition among students.

The Faculty of Technology and Vocational Education (FTVE) hosted an academic and skills competition between two teams—The STELLAR GUIDES and The BRILLIANCE BUILDERS—engaging them in diverse challenges.

The day began with an opening speech by Dean Josefina Carpentero, followed by a Bench Yell Competition, Storytelling Contest, and the interactive quiz Game Ka Na Ba? Fun-filled activities such as Riot Ring, Stampede, Hula Hoop Relay, and Floating Fashionista added excitement.

The skills competitions showcased students’ technical and creative expertise, including Dish Gardening, Painting (Pintahusay), Teaching Demonstration, Sewing, Carpentry & Electrical Wiring, Digital Poster Making, and One Dish Meal Cooking.

In the afternoon's Awarding Ceremony, top performers were recognized, and academic achievers were honored. The BRILLIANCE BUILDERS emerged as Champion, securing the most victories and receiving a wooden trophy.

The event was a resounding success, promoting creativity, teamwork, and academic excellence, furthering FTVE’s mission to nurture young talents for future success.
