SLSU empowers admin workforce through Admin Masterclass on Staff Work Excellence and Events Planning

Southern Leyte State University leveled up its administrative operations and event planning by holding a dynamic Admin Masterclass on Staff Work Excellence and Events Planning on May 22, 2025, at the Mini-Theatre, University Library, Main Campus. The Office of the University President facilitated this initiative, which aimed to elevate staff efficiency, professionalism, and seamless event execution in partnership with the University Human Resource Management and Development Office (UHRMDO).
The full-day session kicked off at 8:30 AM with a prayer led by Administrative Aide VI Jessa C. Mibulos and a warm welcome from University President Dr. Jude A. Duarte. His insights focused on the importance of being a dependable employee who serves as a multiplier machine to the supervisor and manages issues effectively rather than creating them. He also encouraged the participants to limit problems passed up to higher leadership by addressing challenges within their capacity.
Following Dr. Duarte, key sessions were led by Director of Student Affairs and Services Jessa Laarni B. Espinas, who tackled the essentials of staff work efficiency, time management, and prioritization. In her talk, she introduced the Eisenhower Matrix, a time management tool to prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
Ms. Claerchille Jhulia C. Robin-Tan, ME, Executive Assistant to the President, covered a wide range of topics throughout the day, including streaming office processes, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality, event management, logistics, and coordination, as well as conflict resolution.
Participants also heard from Administrative Officer I, Ms. Anna Mae R. Sio, on budgeting and resource allocation and from Ms. April Joy J. Cabesada, Administrative Assistant, and Christine O. Laran, Administrative Officer IV, on post-event documentation.
Engaging workshops allowed staff to apply their learning, collaborate on scenarios, and reflect on best practices. The event ended with closing remarks from Dr. Dewoowoogen P. Baclayon, the VP for Administration and Finance.
