SLSU Delegates Earn Recognition at Student Mobility Program in Indonesia

Championing cultural exchange and global education, student delegates from Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) proudly received an award during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Student Mobility Program at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN), Indonesia.
The recognition was awarded for their active engagement and outstanding contribution throughout the program, reflecting their commitment to international collaboration and cultural diplomacy. The mobility program aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Spanning three weeks, the program combined both virtual and face-to-face components, fostering academic and cultural discussions among participants from across Asia. Students explored a wide range of topics, including digital media, comparative literature, sustainable practices in Indonesia, the Bahasa Indonesia language, Batik, coffee-making, copywriting and editing, food and clothing culture, and media studies. Local tours also immersed participants in Indonesia's urban and rural communities, promoting understanding of sustainable living and heritage preservation.
During the closing ceremony, the SLSU delegates proudly represented the Philippines by performing a harana, blending traditional and modern Filipino songs in a heartfelt serenade. The performance showcased the nation's vibrant culture and underscored the students' role as young cultural ambassadors.
The program highlighted the importance of cross-cultural learning, sustainability, and global partnerships—core values that continue to drive SLSU's commitment to shaping future-ready graduates and strengthening regional cooperation through education.
