SLSU FCSIT Holds PDOS, Send-off Program for Student Immersion Program in Vietnam

The Faculty of Computer Studies and Information Technology (FCSIT) of Southern Leyte State University conducted a Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar and Send-off Program on May 23, 2025, for its upcoming Immersion Program at the Software Development Center, University of Da Nang, Vietnam, scheduled from June 2 to July 4, 2025.
Six Bachelor of Science Information Technology (BSIT) students, Craig Nathan R. Picardal, Josiah Joed G. Getes, Denje L. Largoza, Jennibeth Mangawang, Ken Johnzent Palaña, and Irene Charisse D. Tolibas, will represent Southern Leyte State University in this international student immersion program. They will be escorted by Dr. Rhoderick D. Malangsa, a professor from the Faculty of Computer Studies and Information Technology.
The month-long Student Immersion Program will include technical training sessions, cross-cultural engagement, and collaborative research opportunities, which are perfect avenues for academic and industry collaboration.
The orientation was conducted to equip participants with essential information on travel protocols, intercultural communication, program expectations, and academic activities in Vietnam.
The event was graced and fully supported by the University President Dr. Jude A. Duarte, along with the Vice Presidents, Dr. Constantino G. Medilo, Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Dewoowoogen P. Baclayon, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services; and Dr. Marie Khul C. Langub, Vice President for Student and Auxiliary Services.
Also present to show their support were the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Studies and Information Technology, Dr. Czarina Ancella G. Gabi, the External Linkages and International Affairs Director, Dr. Ingrid M. Uy, and the proud parents and guardians of the participating students, who expressed their full encouragement for this meaningful international endeavor.
