CHTM holds Research Program Crafting Seminar-Write Shop
The Southern Leyte State University’s (SLSU) College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) conducted an online three-day seminar-workshop on November 25 – 27, 2020 to equip the CHTM faculty members with basic knowledge and technicalities in research program crafting.
Dr. Ian Navarrete, a well-published researcher and the head for Research and Innovation of SLSU-Hinunangan Campus, provided guidance in crafting fundable research programs, projects, and activities. The seminar-workshop produced a research program presentation focusing on the college’s research agenda for possible funding. The crafted program centered on the Sustainable Tourism Development for the Province of Southern Leyte. The planned program was composed of three projects: Tourism Inventory and Assessment, Tourism Operations, and Academe and Industry Matching.
The Director for Research and Innovation of SLSU-Sogod (Main Campus), Dr. Constantino Medilo, also served as a resource person in the seminar-workshop, along with Navarrete, gave a discussion on the standard formats and procedures in applying for a fundable research paper. The discussion focused on the standards of DOST and the possible funding programs of the agency.
